How to dispute a credit report

You can dispute information on your credit report. Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, a consumer reporting agency generally has 30 days to investigate a complete dispute. That is an investigation clock, not a promise that anything will come off.

You do not need a company to do this for you. Pull your reports, mark what looks inaccurate or incomplete, and send a complete dispute. The Credit Attack Kit is the checklist for that process — letter templates, a tracker, and the order of steps. Instant PDF. You do the work.
